Juan-Antonio Bernabeu

Mr. Bernabeu is a native of Spain who moved to this country in 1993. He graduated from the College of Southern Idaho (1996), Brigham Young University with a Master's Degree in Arts (2001), and has postgraduate workload completed at the University of Wyoming (1993 to 2020).  Mr. Bernabéu working experience includes working for the bank industry, being an educator for the public school system in California and Wyoming, and working for Laramie County Community College as a full-time faculty, a division’s chair, scholarship committee, LCCC Foundation Committee member, and Study Abroad Program Director (2003 – 2020).  He also served at the Alamo Colleges District in San Antonio Texas as a Coordinator for International Programs (2021).  Mr. Bernabéu has extensive experience with the development of curriculum and instruction for all course levels, the creation of micro-credentialing programs, professional and academic course design, grant writing and establishing academic and institutional agreements between higher learning educational institutions both nationally and internationally.

Danielle Netzer 

Danielle Netzer is part of the WDE's COVID Response Team and is in charge of managing the ARP ESSER grants. Her career in education started when she began teaching at a public middle school in Icheon, South Korea. After returning to the States, she pursued her Masters/PhD in English Literature specializing in Medieval Literature. She has worn various hats in the sphere of higher education at Penn State University: running the Graduate Writing Center, designing and teaching integrated courses from Arthurian Literature to World Drama for the Comparative Literature Department, and providing research and editorial support for scholarly monographs.

Session Description

This presentation will describe the monitoring system that is being currently implemented for ESSER Grants.  Attendees will learn what monitoring is, the difference between monitoring and auditing processes, why it is important, and how it takes place.  Examples will be shared.
